Northern Light Health vendor experienced data breach in February

Maine news sports politics election results and obituaries ppSome Northern Light Health patient files may have been accessed by an unauthorized party following a data breach that occurred in February ppAccording to Northern Light Health spokesperson Karen Sanborn sleep disorder diagnostic vendor Compumedics experienced a breach in security between Feb 15 and March 23 Patients who received services from Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Northern Light AR Gould and Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital may have been affected ppThe compromised files would have contained information on patients names personal demographic information medical record numbers and other general information about patient treatment Officials do not believe that patient social security numbers health insurance or financial information was compromised ppAfter the data was secured Compumedics worked to improve data security It advises that any patients who may have been affected review their documents to ensure that they were not billed for suspicious charges from services they did not receive ppAnyone affected by the breach has been notified by mail being sent Thursday  ppNorthern Light Health IT systems were not affected by the data breach ppAnyone with questions or concerns can contact the Compumedics helpline at 18778413302 Monday through Friday 8 am8 pm central time ppCorrection A previously headline incorrectly stated that Northern Light Health experienced the data breach A Northern Light vendor Compumedics experienced the data breachpp
