Berkeley County Schools cancels classes amid IT “security incident”

BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Berkeley County Schools Superintendent Ronald Stephens has just announced that all schools in the county will be closed Monday due to an ongoing investigation into a “security incident” that has limited IT operations in the county.
Berkeley County Schools have been working diligently to restore operations and further the investigation of the incident.
Students’ Chromebooks are not believed to be affected by this incident but if it is determined that there was an unauthorized access to sensitive personal information, Berkeley County Schools will notify individuals in accordance with applicable laws.
Students will not report to school tomorrow, February 6, 2022. Tomorrow will be a workday for all BCS staff and all after-school activities have been postponed.
